III Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizens in good health both physically and mentally.

2. Applicants must have a high school graduation certificate and be between 18 and 25 years. Applicants under 18 years must provide guardian documents in Harbin, China.

3. Applicants should have good conduct and academic performance (Average grade should be 75 or above out of 100).

4. Applicants for Chinese Language Program must have reached Band 3 (or above) in the HSK Test; Applicants for other Chinese-taught programs must have reached Band 4 (or above) in the HSK Test; Applicants for English-taught programs should submit valid English proficiency certificate (TOEFL 90 or IELTS 6.0 or above).

Please log in at http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn, register and upload the application materials (please select Type A scholarship and the first choice to fill in “Harbin Engineering University”).

IX About the Chinese Government Scholarship (Type A)

Scholarships offered under cooperation or exchange agreements between China and the governments or institutions of relevant countries are normally applied for through the Chinese embassy or consulate-general in the applicant’s home country. Applications are usually accepted from November to February of the following year, so please check for announcements well in advance.

X About CSCA

1. Starting from 2026, applicants seeking to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Chinese universities must provide a valid CSCA score report. The CSCA will organize five examinations annually, scheduled in January, March, April, June, and December.

2. Tests for Mathematics and Physics are available in both Chinese and English; applicants may choose the test language that corresponds to the language of instruction.

Single subject: RMB 450

Two or more subjects: RMB 700
