Q6: What are the facilities of the Chinese Government Scholarship?

A:

A: Applicants for Chinese teaching must submit HSK Level 4( including Level 4) certificate to apply for 1 year of Chinese tuition. If the HSK Level 5 certificate is not obtained before entering the professional study, the school may have the right to cancel the scholarship qualification according to the circumstances.

Q10: If I want to choose to teach in English, what level of English should I achieve?

A: Scholarship students applying for English-taught scholarships require a TOEFL score of80or above or an IELTSscore of 5.5orabove or other proof of English proficiency of the same level.

Visa

Q1: What visa do I need to apply for studying in China?

A: When foreigners enter to China to study, must apply for a study visa (X1/X2 visa) at the embassies or consulates of the People's Republic of China abroad, they need to submit the school's Admission letter and JW201 and JW202 forms.

Q2: What is the difference betweenstudy visas(X1/X2)?

A:

  • Students who are willing to study in China formore than 180 days(based on the time of study as stated by Admission letter)will be issued an X1 visa. The X1 visa is valid for 30 days, and students are required to apply for a study residence permit through the school within 30 days after arrival in China.

  • Students who have studied in China for less than 180 days will be issued an X2 visa. The X2 visa is valid for 30-180 days, usually a single entry, that is, once exited after entry, it is not possible to re-enter China with this visa.

Q3: Can I hold a non-study visa to study at Harbin Engineering University?

A: No, you can't. Foreigners who are found to have engaged in activities that do not correspond to the type of visa may face penalties such as fines, warnings, detention, and deportation, depending on the circumstances.

Q4: Can Iapply for a residence permit for study?

A: No, you can't.

Q1: How do new students register?

A: Students who have received the admission letter of HEU, please report to Room 106, Building26, School of International Cooperation and Education of Harbin Engineering University with the Application Form for Visas for Foreign Students Studying in China, Harbin Engineering University Admission Notice and passports within the time specified in the notice.

Q2: What should I do if I can't report to school on time?

A: If students can’t report to school on time, please explain the reasons in writing or email one week before the start of the semester. And approved by the respected College of International Cooperative Education. Students who have not taken leave or whose leave has not been approved, who do not register after 2weeks (including 2 weeks) after the start of the semester, or who do not register after 2 weeks of leave of absence, will be regarded as automatic withdrawal and their student status will be cancelled.

Q1: How do I dine in school?

A: Harbin Engineering University have three canteens for all students andfaculty members. According to your preferences and eating habits you can dine in any of them with the Harbin Engineering University Student Card.

Q1: What are the accommodation circumstances of the University?

A: The school provides foreign student apartments for international students, located in the southeast corner of the campus of Harbin Engineering University, with a total of more than700rooms and more than1,000 beds. The room types are divided into Single, Double and Family apartment. Each roomis furnished with an en-suite bathroom, equipped witha TV, Refrigerator, and broadband Internet access, and the apartment has a public laundry room, kitchen and other supporting facilities.
