ⅠProgram

The Atomic Energy Scholarship of China (AES) was jointly initiated by the China Atomic Energy Authority and the Ministry of Educationof China in 2017. Harbin Engineering University was one of the institutions entrusted with the responsibility of cultivating high-level specialized technical and management personnel in emerging nuclear power countries through this program.

The program is responds to the demand of the international community by aiming to train applied nuclear power talents. It relies on an international talent training platform for nuclear disciplines and adopts a "diversified" and "dual-mentor" talent training model, establishing a collaborative education mechanism among the government, universities, and enterprises. With the technical cooperation projects with the International Atomic Energy Agency and references to the curricula of top international universities in nuclear engineering, Harbin Engineering University is promoting the construction of an international curriculum system and participating in the development of the "Nuclear Engineering Education Standards" of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The university's nuclear engineering program was the first in China to pass the Engineering Education Accreditation and has since gained wide spread international recognition for its talent training capability and level of nuclear science and engineering, thereby enjoying a good international reputation. The university has now become the largest domestic nuclear talent training base and the Nuclear Education and Training Center of the International Atomic Energy Agency, with unique resource advantages in the field of nuclear power talent training.

The Atomic Energy Scholarship Program offers degree courses, elective courses, comprehensive courses, and practical courses, providing opportunities for visiting and interning at Chinese nuclear power plants, institutes, and bases as part of its talent training program.
