1.Project Features
The Atomic Energy Scholarship of China (AES) was jointly initiated by the China Atomic Energy Authority and the Ministry of Education of China in 2017. Harbin Engineering University was entrusted to cultivate high-level specialized technical and management personnel in emerging nuclear power countries through this program.
The program is guided by the demand of the international community and aims to train applied nuclear power talents. It relies on an international talent training platform for nuclear disciplines and adopts a diversified and dual-mentor talent training model, establishing a collaborative education mechanism between the government, universities, and enterprises. Based on the technical cooperation projects with the International Atomic Energy Agency and referring to the course offerings of top international universities in nuclear engineering, Harbin Engineering University is promoting the construction of an international curriculum system and participating in the development of the Nuclear Engineering Education Standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The nuclear engineering program was the first to pass the engineering education professional certification in China, and the talent training capacity and level of nuclear science and engineering have been widely recognized internationally, with a good international reputation. The university has become the largest domestic nuclear talent training base and the nuclear education and training center of the International Atomic Energy Agency, enjoying unique resource advantages in the field of nuclear power talent training.
The talent training of the Atomic Energy Scholarship Program covers degree courses, elective courses, comprehensive courses, and practical courses, and provides opportunities for visiting and interning at Chinese nuclear power plants, institutes, and bases.

3.Scholarship Funding Period
The duration of the Chinese Government Atomic Energy Scholarship is determined at the time of admission and generally cannot be extended.
4.Scholarship Content and Standards
Tuition fees of 99,000-168,000 yuan, accommodation fees of 25,200-52,800 yuan are provided;
Comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China is provided at 800 yuan/person/year;
Living expenses are provided as follows:
Master's students: 3,000 yuan/month;
PhD students: 3,500 yuan/month;
International travel expenses, transportation fees, and living expenses forfamily members are not covered by the scholarship and must be self-funded.
Food expenses and dormitory services (electricity, water and internet) should be covered by the applicants.
