1.Project Features

The Atomic Energy Scholarship of China (AES) was jointly initiated by the China Atomic Energy Authority and the Ministry of Education of China in 2017. Harbin Engineering University was entrusted to cultivate high-level specialized technical and management personnel in emerging nuclear power countries through this program.

The program is guided by the demand of the international community and aims to train applied nuclear power talents. It relies on an international talent training platform for nuclear disciplines and adopts a diversified and dual-mentor talent training model, establishing a collaborative education mechanism between the government, universities, and enterprises. Based on the technical cooperation projects with the International Atomic Energy Agency and referring to the course offerings of top international universities in nuclear engineering, Harbin Engineering University is promoting the construction of an international curriculum system and participating in the development of the Nuclear Engineering Education Standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The nuclear engineering program was the first to pass the engineering education professional certification in China, and the talent training capacity and level of nuclear science and engineering have been widely recognized internationally, with a good international reputation. The university has become the largest domestic nuclear talent training base and the nuclear education and training center of the International Atomic Energy Agency, enjoying unique resource advantages in the field of nuclear power talent training.
